Fundamentals: Basics of the Christian Faith
There are a lot of stories about legendary football coach Vince Lombardi. Probably the most well known was something he did with his players during practice one day after becoming very frustrated with their performance. Lombardi gathered the team up on the field, held up a football and said, "Let's start at the beginning. This is a football. These are the yard markers. I am the coach. You are the players." From there Lombardi took his team through the basics of football.
From time to time, it's always helpful to go back over the fundamentals no matter what you do in your life. That's what we will be doing in this series--we'll be spending a few weeks going back to some of the most basic and fundamental beliefs of the Christian faith. For those youth who have grown up in church, it will be a great time to 'refocus' their minds on some foundational doctrines. For our many new students, it's an opportunity to help ensure a solid understanding of their faith. |
